A perfect evening for a ride, not as hot as it has been, sunny and no wind. Although that also mae it a perfect night for the midges!

Met Jon and Bernd in penrhyncoch and started the ride up to the top along the road. My bike had a terrible squeak that we tried to fix a couple of times without any joy.

At Pendam we met up with Dave, Martyn, Dan and John D and set off along the Conti trail past Llyn Syfyddrin and then turned right at the ford up the technical climb. At least the squeak seemed to have subsided once I got off road. Down to Nant y Moch and then along the road for a bit before turning left to do 'The Slab'. Unfortunately I didn't quite clear it but I've only tried it once before and didn't know the best line to take.

Then it was off towards Angler's retreat, through the ford and up the technical little climb. I haven't cleared this one for a while but made it without any problems tonight. At the top we headed off down the MXer trails and over the rocky step. Once again I cleared this easily, much to everyones surprise as it can be pretty tricky. I was pretty pleased with this myself as well.

From here we headed back along the normal route back to Nant y Moch and then up over the top and down the nice little descent towards Llyn Craigpistyll. Dan got a puncture here and when we stopped we started getting eaten alive by midges, so we all left Dan to it and went back up the the descent we'd just come down and gave it another go whilst Dan fixed his puncture. From there it was a quick ride back to Llyn Syfyddrin and then up to the Hippity Hops.

Jon and I then headed back down to Penrhyncoch via the White Fridge descent.

All in all a good ride at a nice steady pace with a good group of people.
